("Tutu's" is our HIGHLY recommended option for dance shoes--the correct fit is extremely important. We strongly discourage Target/Wal-Mart ballet shoes due to poor construction, which makes them difficult to dance in.)

FINANCIAL POLICIES

  • The annual family registration fee and first month's tuition is due upon enrollment.

  • Tuition is due by the 10th of each month; any tuition received later than this date will be charged a $15 late fee. If payments are made late habitually, you will be required to enroll in auto-pay. Please help us meet our financial obligations by paying by the due date. Thank you!

  • Tuition may be paid via cash, check, credit/debit card or ACH payment (credit/debit  card and ACH available online only)

    • Cash: Please place cash inside an envelope and write the student(s) name on it to ensure the proper account is credited. Please use the exact amount, if possible.

    • Check: Please make checks out to "Sanctuary Dance Academy LLC" and place directly into the tuiton drop-box.

    • Credit Card/ACH Payments*: must be made online via the parent portal. Automatic payments may also be set up via the parent portal. We're sorry, we currently don't accept credit or debit card payments in person.

    • Auto-pay drafts are charged between the 1st and 3rd of each month.

  • There will be a $35 fee for all returned checks.

  • All tuition and additional fees (costumes, recital fees, etc.) are non-refundable.

  • Tuition cannot be refunded due to a student missing class. Student's may take a make-up class at the director's discretion at a level equal to or just below their own, if available.

  • Written notice is required when withdrawing from a class by the first day of the month of withdrawal in order to avoid your account being charged.

  • Because class fees are averaged out throughout the year, tuition costs remain the same each month regardless of how many class weeks are in the month.

  • Families with unpaid balances from a previous year will not be permitted to register for classes until the previous balance has been paid.

(*Convenience Fees are 3.05% + 0.30¢ for credit cards and 1% + 0.20¢ for ACH payments.)

GENERAL STUDIO/GYM POLICIES

  • Sanctuary Dance Academy currently rents the studio space inside "Shape Up" gym, located at 1436 N. Gateway Avenue, Unit 140, Rockwood, Tn. 37854. To enter the gym, please ring the doorbell and we will gladly open the door for you.

  • Sanctuary Dance Academy follows Roane County Schools for inclement weather closures. Missed classes will be made-up at a later date or prorated at the director's discretion.

  • Students that miss an excessive amount of classes in a semester (four or more) may have a smaller part in the spring dance due to the teachers' inability to instruct them in the missed technique training and choreography. A private lesson with the teacher is recommended to help the student catch up. Private lesson rates are $60 per hour.

  • Required rehearsals must be attended by the dancer in order for them to be allowed to perform in the recital or other performances. No exceptions can be made.

  • At least one parent is required to volunteer during our spring dress rehearsal. This volunteer position may be either an in-person volunteer time slot or through a volunteer donation (a sign-up list will be sent via email in the spring). While we promise to do our very best to not require any parents to volunteer backstage during the actual recital, we may have need of parent volunteers if we are short-handed and need more adults to help keep all students properly supervised. Thank you for your participation!

  • Dress codes are created for a dancer's safety. Students are expected to abide by the dress code while in class.

  • Dancers must wear cover-ups over their dance clothes unless they are inside the dance studio room. This includes trips to the bathroom and waiting in the lobby area.

  • Students must be supervised by their parent or guardian at all times prior to and after class. Students younger than 16 should not exit the building alone or wait outside for pick-up.

  • Parents and siblings are welcome to wait in the gym lobby while classes are in session. Young siblings may use the play area. However, please supervise children CLOSELY at all times and do not allow them to play loudly or throw toys. Loud or unruly children will be asked to exit the children's area and sit with their parents.

  • For your safety, please use the walking track to access the restrooms. Walking through the gym equipment area is not allowed.

  • Parents or class assistants must accompany students younger than the age of 10 to the bathroom. Older students may go alone or in pairs at the discretion of the teacher or parent.

  • Only gym members may use the gym equipment at any time. If you would like to join the gym or purchase a day pass for $5, please speak with a gym staff member and they will be happy to assist you!

  • Parents and siblings may watch through the double doors (which are left slightly ajar for observation) but are not allowed to come inside the studio during class time as this poses a distraction for the students. Thank you for understanding!

  • Please try to arrive 5-10 minutes before class begins.

  • A five minute class change-over time is included in the class schedule if needed.

  • No food or drink is allowed inside the studio room except bottled water with a secure lid.

  • Cell phone use is not allowed during class time.

  • Students and parents must be respectful of teachers, classmates, gym staff, and all other people at all times. Failure to do so may result in dismissal from the studio. Profanity, threatening remarks, or disrespectful speech will not be tolerated.

  • Sanctuary Dance Academy reserves the right to dismiss a student or family from the studio for any reason at any time without refund of any payments received should it be deemed necessary to do so.
