Official dress code

Every class has a simple dress code, chosen for safety, modesty, and a clear focus on dancing. Here is what to wear, class by class, with a few examples to make shopping easy.

For every class: leotards must be cap sleeve, long sleeve, wide-strap tank, or mock turtleneck style. No camisoles, thin straps, or mesh midriff.

Where to shop

You can find dancewear at Sanctuary’s online store. For ballet shoes we highly recommend a proper fitting at Tutu’s: A Dancer’s Boutique, 9700 Kingston Pike, Unit 2, Knoxville, TN 37922. Ask for the Sanctuary Dance Academy dress code when you arrive. Correct fit matters, so we discourage big-box ballet shoes. Tumbling families may also shop at Tutu’s or on Amazon.
